Would you like to learn to play guitar?  Sign up today at the College of DuPage and learn how to play guitar and entertain your friends or become the next big rock star.  There are two separate sessions this summer; one for beginners and one for intermediate level players.

The first session for beginners starts on June 22, 2009 and goes until June 25, 2009 and the class meets from 09:00AM until 02:50PM in the open campus center.  We will cover the basics from tuning and stringing your guitar to basic chords and reading guitar music.  We will go over the use of a pick and basic finger picking.  The class will learn how to read tabulature and find your favorite songs on the internet.

The second session for intermediate players starts on July 27, 2009 and goes until July 30, 2009 and the class meets from 09:00AM until 02:50PM in the open campus center.  We will go over advanced chord shapes and different chord positions.  We will go over the use of effects pedals and the different types of amplifiers.  We will learn about basic harmony and simple guitar duets.

Do you want to know what it takes to be in a band?  Sign up for the Rock Band Camp at College of DuPage and learn the ins and outs of performing in a band live onstage.  This camp is also for non musicians who are interested in things like promotion, sound, lighting, and stage crew.

We will put a band together and perfrom a show on the last day of camp.  We need someone who is interested in desigining and maintaining a website, a sound engineer, a lighiting designer and a variety of musicians.  You don't have to know all of this stuff, you will learn all about it in camp.

Everyone in the camp will learn about all the other jobs.  This way you will get a good understanding of how the whole organization works.  So if you are a musician who wants to be in a band or someone who loves music and wants to work for a band, sign up and learn what it takes to have one of the coolest jobs in the world.
